1️⃣ 𝙇𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚: During cuddling, a hormone called Oxytocin is released. Oxytocin has the ability to temporarily lower blood pressure.
2️⃣ 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝: Lower blood pressure directly improves heart function and efficiency.
3️⃣ 𝙇𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨: Cuddling blocks the release of the stress hormone - Cortisol - and this lowers Stress levels. Lowering cortisol levels also lowers blood pressure and improves heart health.
4️⃣ 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥: With your blood pressure lowered, your stress lowered, you feeling at ease and happy, why won't you sleep comfortably? However, if you fall asleep while still cuddling, you are more less likely to sleep for long. You will lose sleep after every sleep cycle (about 2hours) before falling back asleep.
5️⃣ 𝙀𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: Cortisol directly suppresses your body's immune function. Because cuddling prevents secretion of Cortisol, it therefore improves on your immune function. This helps you fight simple infections like the flu.
6️⃣ 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙋𝙖𝙞𝙣: Oxytocin suppresses your body's sensitivity to pain. As cuddling causes the secretion of Oxytocin, pain is suppressed during and after cuddling. This is more effective in females than in males because their bodies secrete more oxytocin. Cuddling has been found to be more effective pain reliever than Over-the-counter pain meds like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Rufenac.
7️⃣ 𝙀𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮'𝙨 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝: Cuddling with your infant (a baby below 30 days old) can boost it’s oxygen levels, calm its breathing, and ease pain signals. And for an underweight baby, it raises survival chances by more than a third. It helps the brain grow and makes infection and other illnesses, like hypoglycemia or hypothermia, less likely.
8️⃣ 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙮: A less stressed, healthier and happier person is more likely to be efficient and more productive than someone who is stressed up and unhappy.
